STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Sunsense Solar is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to help assist and oversee our accounting department.  The Staff Accountant will be responsible for monitoring general accounting practices and developing internal accounting controls.  The successful candidate will report directly to the Accounting Manger and President and play an instrumental role in the financial success and future of Sunsense Solar.

Qualifications:       

  • Must have at least 5 + yrs. experience in Construction Accounting
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel and Word
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a team player and work well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional leadership abilities

 Primary Tasks – Financial Management

  • Analyze accounting & financial information for entry in accounting data base system
  • Generate monthly & quarterly accounting reports for the executive and management teams
  • Generate weekly financial reporting/spreadsheet for President; forecast cash flow, receivables and payables
  • Assess the requirement of funds & working capital
  • Monthly JE’s per accounting procedure and policy
  • Fixed assets, purchases and its accounting
  • Annual Tax Preparation, work with current CPA

Primary Tasks – Accounting Practices

  • Manage day-to day accounting operations, data entry, reconcile operating and GL accounts, statements
  • Sales and Use tax processing and payments per jurisdiction
  • Maintain balances and reconciliation of credit and fuel card accounts
  • Process payroll, review and maintain time sheet data entry, Holiday, vacation & sick time
  • Payroll taxes, monthly, quarterly and annual
  • Process annual W2’s and 1099’s
  • Assists with special projects, as requested. Schedule of Values and AIA Pay applications
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation:

OFFICE MANAGER

Sunsense Solar is a busy solar design and installation company in need of a multi-talented administrator to provide support in a variety of areas.  Responsibilities include utility interconnection processing, office support and reception duties. This position would suit a detail-oriented, organized self-starter looking for an administrative position in an environmentally conscious company.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office – Excel & Word and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Clean driving record and valid license.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Aptitude to work in a team environment with a variety of personalities.
  • Prior experience in Office Manger role preferred

Primary Tasks – Training will be provided.

  • Work with residential sales team to complete all necessary paperwork for utility interconnection.
  • Interact with homeowners to gather information, insurance, and signatures.
  • Interact with electric utility company representatives.
  • Meet weekly with residential sales team on project status. Update project tracker.
  • Assemble owner’s manuals.
  • Organize company related meetings and events.
  • Track and order for office supply needs.
  • Greet visitors in reception area.
  • Answer phone calls and direct to relevant staff member.
  • Provide other administrative support tasks as required.

COMMERCIAL SITE SUPERVISOR

The Commercial Site Supervisor will work with the Project Manager and field crew(s) to achieve completion of projects with the highest levels of safety, quality, and efficiency while ensuring conformance with the project plans and specifications.  Note: Applicants with no solar PV experience will not be considered for this role.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of previous commercial solar installation experience on roof- and ground-mounted systems preferred
  • NABCEP, OSHA 10/30, Forklift certifications are strongly preferred
  • Must have full range of motion in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions & environments, including, but not limited to: stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time in the heat and cold
  • Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to think on your feet and make adjustments & decisions in the field
  • Professional appearance and customer service skills
  • Hard working attitude, extremely reliable, attention to detail and solutions-oriented
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Primary Tasks:

  • Be responsible for Sunsense job sites: safety, security, subcontractors, deliveries, etc.
  • Lead and train crew members to ensure that projects are built according to design, within company policies and procedures, all while maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality and system longevity
  • Discuss design changes with Project Manager, red-line drawings when alterations are approved
  • Communicate with all stakeholders professionally, considerately, and respectfully
  • Perform on-the-job task-specific trainings and daily safety briefings
  • Ensure completion of all required paperwork & documentation including, but not limited to: photos, labeling, safety documentation, testing charts and time sheets

LEAD PV INSTALLER

The overall goal of the Lead PV Installer is to achieve completion of projects with the highest levels of safety, quality and efficiency while ensuring conformance with the system plans and specifications.  Applicants with no solar experience will not be considered for this role.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of previous solar installation experience on roof- and ground-mounted PV systems.
  • NABCEP Certification and OSHA 10/30 are strongly preferred
  • Must have full range of motion in upper and lower body and the ability to work in various positions & environments. This includes, but is not limited to: stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time in high and low temperatures
  • Rooftop work is a significant part of the job, so being able to work safely and efficiently off the ground is required
  • Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to think on your feet, make adjustments & decisions in the field as required

SOLAR PV INSTALLER

The overall goal of the PV Installer is to achieve completion of projects with the highest level of safety, quality and efficiency as an integral member of the installation team.

Qualifications:

  • Previous solar installation experience a plus.
  • Entry-Level NABCEP certification, general construction experience, OSHA 10/30 are preferred
  • Must have full range of motion in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions & environments, including, but not limited to: stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time in hot and cold temperatures
  • Rooftop work is a significant part of the job, so being comfortable with ladders, working on steep pitches, using fall protection & positioning gear and in general being able to work safely and efficiently off the ground / on rooftops is required
  • Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to think on your feet, make adjustments & decisions in the field as required
  • Professional appearance, hard-working attitude, reliability, attention to detail and a curious nature
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Primary Tasks:

  • Work with and train under Crew Leaders and the Installer team(s) to complete projects within established policies and procedures
  • Discuss any and all design alterations with Crew Leader prior to implementation
  • Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on safety. Be responsible for your own and others’ safety
  • Load and unload trucks in a careful, professional manner. Care for and maintain gear, tools, equipment, vehicles and other company property
  • Assist in stocking trucks and preparing job “kits” in the warehouse as needed
