COMMERCIAL LEAD PV INSTALLER

The Commercial Lead PV Installer completes commercial‐scale PV projects to the highest
levels of safety and quality as the head of their team, ensuring conformance with the system
plans and specifications. On many projects the Commercial Lead PV Installer will play a dual
role as the Site Supervisor, requiring not only crew leadership while performing primary
installation work, but also site management responsibilities such as: site security, receiving
material deliveries, interactions with stakeholders and interfacing with subcontractors.
This position will be based in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of previous solar installation experience required; applicants without
experience will not be considered. Experience leading commercial PV projects
preferred.
• Experience installing pitched and flat‐roof as well as ground‐mounted PV systems is
preferred.
• NABCEP Certification and OSHA 10/30 is strongly preferred. Training provided.
• Experience using OHSA‐compliant safety systems including (but not limited to) fall
protection, positioning and roof access strongly preferred. Training provided.
• Must have full range of motion in upper and lower body and the ability to work in
various positions during all seasons. This includes, but is not limited to: stooping,
standing, bending, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time in high
and low temperatures.
• The range of projects includes many roof‐mounted systems so being comfortable
with ladders, at times working on steep pitches and in general being able to work
safely and efficiently off the ground and on rooftops is required.
• Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50
pounds on a frequent basis.
• Think on your feet, make adjustments & decisions in the field as required.
• Possess a calm, professional demeanor and customer service skills.
• Experience with conduit bending, routing and associated Codes strongly preferred.
• Have a hard working attitude, be reliable and pay attention to detail.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Primary Tasks:

• Work with, train & lead crew members in the construction of projects according to
the design package, applicable codes and company policies with an emphasis on
safety and quality.
• Be an inspiration to your team members, constructively encouraging them to
consistently exceed safety and quality standards. Be accountable for yourself and the
actions of your team.
• Ensure that projects are built according to design with an eye to quality and longevity.
• Regularly update supervisor on job status and conditions. Discuss deviations from
design package with supervisor prior to implementation. Mark‐up drawing sets with
any and all changes to reflect the project as built.
• Complete paperwork & documentation as needed and as assigned. This may include:
in‐process and final photos, system labeling, safety documentation, testing charts etc.

SERVICE, O&M AND OFF-GRID MANAGER

The Service/Off-Grid/O&M division at Sunsense handles a wide range of tasks. The Manager will oversee technicians in Service, Off-Grid and O&M environments, manage projects at many scales, write proposals and reports and run division operations. This person will be chiefly focused on managerial and developmental tasks, but should be able to fulfill the role of a Lead Technician when called for. This job would best fit someone with a broad and deep knowledge of PV installation and repair who is looking for a multi-faceted, high-paced role with a growth trajectory.

 

Qualifications:
  • Previous solar installation experience including battery storage applications and equipment programming. Formal education in this area also a plus. This person should be comfortable in any PV environment.
  • Any/all of the following are preferred: NABCEP PVIP, OSHA 10/30, First Aid, IR certification. Can also be on a proven path towards any/all of these. General construction experience also a plus.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PDF software and various PV monitoring platforms as well as a general comfort level working with technology is required.
  • Must be physically able to perform all job tasks.
  • Be able to think on your feet, make adjustments & decisions in the office and field as required.
  • Possess a hard-working attitude, be highly reliable, have attention to detail and a curious nature.

Primary Tasks: 80+% office, 20%- field
General/Managerial:
  • Coordinate billing, invoicing and vendor payments with Accounting.
  • Review and approve division timesheets.
  • Collect and deliver QA/QC, product and other feedback to crews and other departments.
  • Update and implement division policies in concert with Operations Manager.
  • Schedule, dispatch, lead and train technicians to complete projects within established policies and procedures.
  • Develop ideas on increasing division revenue and profitability while maintaining a high bar for safety and quality.
Service:
  • Respond to service-related inquiries regarding PV system functionality and performance.
  • Support technicians from the office. When field work is required, safely and efficiently perform such on-site tasks such as system and equipment inspection, documentation, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting.
  • Work with OEM support centers to resolve service case and warranty issues. Complete troubleshooting and/or replacement procedures and required documentation. Track billing and warranty reimbursements.
  • Make warranty determinations (Workmanship) and/or advocate for Sunsense clients with OEMs.
  • Complete necessary service documentation in a detailed and timely manner.
Off-Grid:
  • Sales – Perform site visits, communicate with clients, do initial sales engineering, create estimates and drive contract execution.
  • Estimating – Create both pre- and post-contract job estimates.
  • Design – Coordinate with the Design department and prepare permit applications.
  • Project management – Secure permits, schedule crew(s), subcontractors and other resources and manage billing. Draft project safety plans and other documentation as needed.
O&M:
  • Create and edit report templates and use various metering/testing tools to perform on-site system evaluations. Collect and analyze data and generate reports. Train technicians on safe / accurate use of testing equipment.
  • Fulfill on-site O&M tasks such as inverter maintenance and performance testing, combiner and string-level maintenance and testing, module and site inspection and system documentation.
  • Maintain high levels of quality with an emphasis on safety.
  • Seek out new O&M contracts and renewal of existing ones.
Compensation:

LEAD PV INSTALLER

The Lead PV Installer completes grid-tied PV projects to the highest levels of safety and quality as the head of their team, ensuring conformance with the system plans and specifications. This job is mainly focused on residential projects, but may at times include small-scale commercial systems. Applicants without previous PV experience will not be considered for this role.

 

Qualifications:
  • Previous solar installation experience on roof- and ground-mounted PV systems required.
  • Previous experience leading solar PV projects preferred.
  • NABCEP PV Certification and OSHA 10/30 are strongly preferred, but not required.

PV INSTALLER

Qualifications:
  • Previous solar installation experience and/or technical education a plus, but not required. Curiosity and passion are most important.
  • Entry-Level or higher NABCEP certification, general construction experience, OSHA 10/30, First Aid certification are plusses, but not required. We can and will provide training.
  • You must have full range of motion in your upper and lower body, the ability to work in various positions & environments, including, but not limited to: stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time, indoors and out, in all seasons.
  • Rooftop work is a significant part of this job. Going up and down ladders, at times working on steep pitches and in general being able to work comfortably, safely and efficiently at heights is part of the role. Fall protection, roof access and positioning training will be provided.

  • Conduct yourself in a courteous and professional manner, both at the shop and on job sites.
  • Care for and maintain gear, tools, equipment, vehicles and other company property. Report deficiencies promptly.
  • Assist in stocking, cleaning and maintaining an orderly warehouse.

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Sunsense Inc. is looking for a reliable Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for monitoring general accounting practices and assist with internal accounting controls. The ideal candidate will be capable of learning our complex accounting system with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will report directly to the Accounting Manger and President and play an instrumental role in the financial success and future of Sunsense Inc.

 

Accounting Assistant Duties:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, data entry, reconcile operating and GL accounts, statements
• Request and process W9 forms from new Vendors
• Receive and process Purchase Orders
• Sales and Use tax processing per jurisdiction ( monthly)
• Maintain balances and reconciliation of credit and fuel cards
• Assists with special projects, as requested. Schedule of Values and AIA Pay applications
• Enter New Client information into QuickBooks and Project Tracker, generate estimate and create customer folders.
• Scan file and log accounting documents
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must have at least 2+ yrs. experience in Construction Accounting
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel and Word
