COMMERCIAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

The Commercial Sales Representative will work from our Carbondale office.  This position entails full engagement with all Sunsense departments (Operations, Design, Procurement, Accounting and Marketing) and requires a skill set capable of growth within the company.

Qualifications:  Commercial Sales

  • Strong work ethic.
  • Detail oriented and organized.

  • Experience with PV business (developer, contractor or manufacturer).
  • NABCEP PV Technical Sales (preferred, but not required).

 Primary Tasks:  Commercial Sales

  • Commercial sales for systems 50-500kW w/ Western Colorado focus.
  • Relationship building, primary contact for project development.
  • Create commercial lead generation strategy.
  • Research and qualify commercial leads.
  • Assist with site evaluation, system design, equipment specification.
  • Estimate project costs.
  • Prepare written proposals and respond to RFPs with site work and supporting documentation.
  • Understand and propose financing strategies for projects (3rd Party, PPAs, leases/loans, C-PACE).
  • Prepare ROI spreadsheets, cash flow analysis, etc.
  • Support inside sales team with best practices for commercial sales <50 kW
  • Support outside sales consultant with pursuing commercial sales
  • Make presentations at workshops and events
  • Support utility sales in financial analysis.

Compensation:

  • Salaried – depending on experience.

MASTER ELECTRICIAN

Sunsense Solar seeks the services of a Master Electrician to assist with all job tasks related to the AC side of commercial, residential, and battery based photovoltaic systems.  These tasks include installation, maintenance, estimating, design, and management of all AC electricians on Sunsense projects.  This position is based in the Carbondale office and works in concert with the Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have a Colorado State Master Electrician’s License and is responsible for completing any continuing education requirements needed to renew license.
  • Desired additional certifications:
    • NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional
    • OSHA 10, OSHA 30
  • Strong knowledge of current National Electric Code, Local Codes and OSHA requirements for AC related work.
  • Must be able to read and interpret instruction manuals, written guidelines, codes and regulations, construction specifications, single line diagrams, and electrical plans.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills; be able to effectively lead subordinates and work with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs, work in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in confined areas, on ladders and on roofs.

Primary Tasks – Installation & Maintenance:

  • Responsible for installing and wiring all AC equipment on residential, commercial, & battery based projects.
  • Responsible for working with the Service Department to troubleshoot and resolve all AC related service and maintenance work.
  • Responsible for managing any other journeyman or residential wiremen working on Sunsense projects and ensuring that all AC work is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes.
  • Responsible for communicating with non-Sunsense jobsite electricians on Sunsense projects to ensure that AC equipment is installed correctly.

Primary Tasks – Design & Estimating:

  • Assist Commercial Sales associates and Commercial Designers to specify AC equipment and estimate equipment costs and labor associated with AC work on commercial projects.
  • Maintain and update residential AC estimating matrix.
  • Assist Residential Sales associates and Residential Designers to specify AC equipment and estimate equipment and labor costs on residential projects that fall outside of the parameters of the residential AC estimating matrix.
  • Assist Off-Grid and Battery Backup sales associates and designers to specify AC equipment and estimate equipment costs and labor associated with AC work on off-grid and battery backup projects.
  • Assist Service Department to estimate equipment & labor costs of all AC related service work.

 Primary Tasks – Safety:

  • Responsible for ensuring all AC work is completed to OSHA standards, that appropriate PPE is being used when required, and that lock out/tag out practices are followed.
  • Responsible for working with Operations Manager to develop and maintain best practice safety protocols for all AC work.

SERVICE, O&M AND OFF-GRID MANAGER

 The Service/Off-Grid/O&M division at Sunsense handles a wide range of tasks. The Manager will oversee technicians in Service, Off-Grid and O&M environments, manage projects at many scales, write proposals and reports and run division operations.  This person will be chiefly focused on managerial and developmental tasks, but should be able to fulfill the role of a Lead Technician when called for.  This job would best fit someone with a broad and deep knowledge of PV installation and repair who is looking for a multi-faceted, high-paced role with a growth trajectory.

Qualifications:

  • Previous solar installation experience including battery storage applications and equipment programming. Formal education in this area also a plus.  This person should be comfortable in any PV environment.
  • Any/all of the following are preferred: NABCEP PVIP, OSHA 10/30, First Aid, IR certification. Can also be on a proven path towards any/all of these. General construction experience also a plus.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PDF software and various PV monitoring platforms as well as a general comfort level working with technology is required.
  • Must be physically able to perform all job tasks.
  • Be able to think on your feet, make adjustments & decisions in the office and field as required.
  • Possess a hard-working attitude, be highly reliable, have attention to detail and a curious nature.
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Primary Tasks: 80+% office, 20%- field

General/Managerial:

  • Coordinate billing, invoicing and vendor payments with Accounting.
  • Review and approve division timesheets.
  • Collect and deliver QA/QC, product and other feedback to crews and other departments.
  • Update and implement division policies in concert with Operations Manager.
  • Schedule, dispatch, lead and train technicians to complete projects within established policies and procedures.
  • Develop ideas on increasing division revenue and profitability while maintaining a high bar for safety and quality.

Service:

  • Respond to service-related inquiries regarding PV system functionality and performance.
  • Support technicians from the office. When field work is required, safely and efficiently perform such on-site tasks such as system and equipment inspection, documentation, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting.
  • Work with OEM support centers to resolve service case and warranty issues. Complete troubleshooting and/or replacement procedures and required documentation.  Track billing and warranty reimbursements.
  • Make warranty determinations (Workmanship) and/or advocate for Sunsense clients with OEMs.
  • Complete necessary service documentation in a detailed and timely manner.

Off-Grid:

  • Sales – Perform site visits, communicate with clients, do initial sales engineering, create estimates and drive contract execution.
  • Estimating – Create both pre- and post-contract job estimates.
  • Design – Coordinate with the Design department and prepare permit applications.
  • Project management – Secure permits, schedule crew(s), subcontractors and other resources and manage billing. Draft project safety plans and other documentation as needed.

O&M:

  • Create and edit report templates and use various metering/testing tools to perform on-site system evaluations. Collect and analyze data and generate reports.  Train technicians on safe / accurate use of testing equipment.
  • Fulfill on-site O&M tasks such as inverter maintenance and performance testing, combiner and string-level maintenance and testing, module and site inspection and system documentation.
  • Maintain high levels of quality with an emphasis on safety.
  • Seek out new O&M contracts and renewal of existing ones

 Compensation:

  • Starting salary $45k-55k, depending on experience

LEAD PV INSTALLER

The overall goal of the Lead PV Installer is to achieve completion of projects with the highest levels of safety, quality and efficiency while ensuring conformance with the system plans and specifications.  Applicants with no solar experience will not be considered for this role.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of previous solar installation experience on roof- and ground-mounted PV systems.
  • NABCEP Certification and OSHA 10/30 are strongly preferred
  • Must have full range of motion in upper and lower body and the ability to work in various positions & environments. This includes, but is not limited to: stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time in high and low temperatures
  • Rooftop work is a significant part of the job, so being able to work safely and efficiently off the ground is required
  • Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to think on your feet, make adjustments & decisions in the field as required

  • Ability to plan, route and bend metallic and PVC conduit

Primary Tasks:

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Sunsense Solar is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to help assist and oversee our Accounting Department.  The Staff Accountant will be responsible for monitoring general accounting practices and developing internal accounting controls.  The successful candidate will report directly to the company president while working with all department leaders and play an instrumental role in the financial success and future of Sunsense Solar.

 Qualifications:

Primary Tasks – Financial Management:

  • Analyze accounting & financial information for entry in accounting data base system
  • Generate monthly & quarterly accounting reports for the executive and management teams
  • Generate weekly financial reporting/spreadsheet for president; forecast cash flow, receivables and payables
  • Assess the requirement of funds & working capital
  • Monthly JE’s per accounting procedure and policy
  • Monitor fixed assets and purchases
  • Annual tax preparation, work with current CPA

Primary Tasks – Accounting Practices:

  • Manage day-to day accounting operations, data entry, reconcile operating and GL accounts, statements
  • Sales and Use tax processing and payments per jurisdiction
