Sunsense provided turn-key services in the design and installation of the CRMS Solar Farm system located in Carbondale, Colorado. The Solar Farm consists of (756) solar electric modules and (18) inverters. The rated capacity is just over 147kW, enough to power 30-40 energy efficient homes. Sunsense is proud to have delivered this system on time and under budget.
The CRMS Solar Farm was a collaboration between the Colorado Rocky Mountain School (CRMS), which provided the land, and the Aspen Skiing Co. (ASC), which provided the financing for the $1.1 million project. The Town of Carbondale and nonprofit Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE) were integral to the planning. Xcel Energy, the local utility, made the financing possible by providing rebates and purchasing the renewable energy credits over a 20-year period.
The Jossman Building, which houses the CRMS Humanities Program, will use one third of the power. The rest will be purchased by Xcel Energy and distributed to customers in Carbondale. At the end of the 20-year term, ASC will donate the project to CRMS.
Sunsense is committed to creating partnerships with municipalities, corporate leaders, government entities and non-profit organizations to further the large-scale proliferation of solar electricity. By integrating these partners with third party developers and financial resources, Sunsense is able to coordinate utility scale projects in a turn key fashion.
