Feb. 2011 - Sunsense Solar Wins SunPower “Intelegant Award for Excellence” in Residential Solar
PRESS RELEASE: Carbondale, Colo. – February 14, 2011 – Sunsense Solar, an installer of high quality solar power systems, today announced that it has won the prestigious SunPower ‘Intelegant Award for Excellence’ in residential solar-electric power system installation. The company received the award for its installation of a 3.15-kilowatt SunPower solar system on Green Builder Media’s VISION House Aspen.
The SunPower Intelegant Award recognizes residential SunPower solar-electric power system installations that exemplify SunPower’s commitment to excellence in aesthetics, quality and performance. Award-winning installations are selected for the quality of the design and installation as well as homeowner satisfaction.
The VISION House Aspen was constructed by Paradigm Construction, which selected Sunsense Solar to install high efficiency, signature black SunPower solar panels. The Green Builder VISION House Program is a series of demonstration homes built around the country that showcase the implementation of green design, building techniques, and products and systems. Each house utilizes site-specific solutions for solving key green building issues including energy, water, land, resource use, waste management, and indoor environment quality.

Dec. 2010 - Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork awards Sunsense “Business Partner of the Year”

In 2010 Sunsense Solar installed a 6.3kW, 3.15kW and a 1.2kW PV system on three different newly constructed Habitat homes in the Rimrock Subdivision of Rifle, CO. Many of the Sunsense Solar employees volunteered their personal Saturday time to install these systems. Even Scott Ely, the president of Sunsense Solar strapped on his tool belt to help with one of the installations.

Sunsense Solar Employees Earn NABCEP PV Installer Certification for Solar Electric
Sunsense Solar would like to congratulate Steven Haines, Andy Lietz, and Jes Sanderford for passing the NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) PV Installer (solar electric) certification test. NABCEP Certification is the highest level of certification for solar professionals. There are approximately (700) NABCEP Certified individuals in the United States and (70) in Colorado. Sunsense Solar now has a total of four (4) NABCEP Certified PV Installers on its full time staff.

November 2008 – Sunsense Solar recognized as Business of the Year, Carbondale
The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce awarded Scott Ely, founder of Sunsense, with the award for Business of the Year and recognized some of the companies projects including CRMS solar farm, Carbondale Town Hall and the picnic shelter in Sopris Park.
Spring 2009 – SunSense and Habitat for Humanity, Rifle
Sunsense Solar will be inviting the public, volunteers and community members to view a photovoltaic panel installation. In addition, a tour of the home will be given with emphasis on how PV electric, solar thermal and energy efficiency benefit homeowners.
