Frequently Asked Service Questions:
“Has my solar electric system stopped producing or is my monitoring down?”
If you have any questions about the functionality of your system, give our Service Department a call at (970) 963-1420 or email Service@SunsenseSolar.com to have one of our technical professionals take a look at your system.
“Should I wash my solar panels?”
Although it is not typically necessary, you may choose to wash your panels if there is a noticeable buildup of deposits such as dust, pollutants, and bird droppings. To increase system production keep the surface of your panels clean to enhance light transmission, which maximizes the performance of the panels. You can wash your solar panels with water, a glass cleaner and a cloth or soft brush. DO NOT wash your modules when they are hot as they may break. If you would like Sunsense to provide this service, please call for more information and project specific pricing.
“How do I remove snow from my solar panels?”
After a snowstorm, you may brush snow off the array using a broom. Please DO NOT use a metal shovel on the modules themselves. Ice buildup will melt quickly once the insulating snow is removed and the sun is out. If snow ever builds up in front of the array to the point that it is blocking the lower modules, even partially, use a plastic shovel to remove the buildup. If you would like Sunsense to provide this service, please call for more information and project specific pricing.
