We see solar power as a great way for people to empower themselves to offset their carbon footprint on this planet and if you are ready to implement solar for your home or solar for your business then we would love to connect you with one of our expert solar consultants to help you realize your goals.
Beyond solar power, there are infinite methods for participating in sustainability that are well within your reach.
At Sunsense we embrace this philosophy in our working lives, and in our personal lifestyles. Our pursuits include implementing solar and energy efficiency upgrades on our homes, urban gardening in our local community gardens, holding seats on the town’s Environmental Board, and in particular, using alternative transportation.
The Town of Carbondale, and surrounding area, has an incredible network of bike paths that are maintained by the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA). Sunsense employees enjoy the privilege of being able to quickly cross town via this network on our way to and from work. Many of us have even equipped our bikes with studded tires to brave the ice and snow through the winter months.
And we are not the only ones. In years past our local Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE) has organized a COREmmuter Challenge event that tallies the total mileage of a team of alternative transportation participants, and provides a cumulative mileage and associated carbon offset value for the group’s participation over a 3 month period. The COREmmuter Challenge culminates the week of Carbondale Bike Week, a celebration of all things bicycle.
So remember, installing a solar electric system on your roof is a great way to offset part of your carbon footprint but there are many other things that you can do too.
